We all do like those terms and are inclined towards buying them. But don't you think we should know more about this oil? What is ARGAN OIL? Yes! for culinary too! As cosmetic purposes, Argan oil is used to repair damaged hair, dry hair and split ends; prevent your hair from sun damage and heating tools; and treats dry and itchy scalp. #7 Whole Fruit vs Fruit Juice

Image
Did you know: Eating a fruit lowers your chance of diabetes, while drinking fruit juice increases the risk? When we plan to go on a diet or aim at weight loss, the one thing we majorly tend to do is drinking fruit juices, be it making your own fruit juice or buying processed ones. But how many of you have thought about the sugars you consume by doing so?                                     You might tell me that you do not add any sugar to you fruit juice; it is fresh, natural and healthy; and you get your quota of vitamins and minerals from the juice. It is natural but how many fruits do you use to make a glass full of fruit juice? Definitely more than one right? By using more than one fruit for your fruit juice, you end up consuming more sugars than you imagine (as you all know fruits contain sugars), increasing the caloric level, spiking up your sugar level, and losing on the most i...

#5 Makhana –The Wonder Food

Image
Makhana Last week while on my regular shopping, I came across this wonder food called “Makhana”. What immediately grabbed my attention was it resembling our all-time favorite “popcorn”. When I asked the shopkeeper what was that made of, he told me they were puffed lotus seeds. I started laughing initially, but later on after coming to know of its amazing health benefits, I wanted to share this wonder food with you all. What is Makhana? Makhana, its Indian name, also called as Fox nuts or Lotus seeds, is taken from Euryale Fox which grows majorly on stagnant water. These seeds can be eaten as such or roasted. I basically prefer the roasted version. What is so wonderful about Makhana? Makhana is low-fat, high-carbohydrate food which can be used as an ideal food for people who are in their weight loss regimen. As it is high in magnesium and low in sodium, it is very effective for people having high blood pressure or diabetes. Did you know? Lotus seeds (Makha...

#4 Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer with SPF 15

Image
Hi all, Today, I am going to review Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer which has a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 15 and made using a Norwegian Formula. I have dry lips throughout the year irrespective of the seasons and I needed a non-tinted lipbalm. After a lot of searching, I finally came across this product. You can get this product at any leading beauty stores or online shopping sites. This product has no color, no flavor and does not leave any waxy feeling on the lips. MY experience: This product is very moisturizing and did not dry out my lips. My lips were not burnt or darkened when under the sun, thanks to its SPF. I use this on a daily basis and my lips are pink and plump. Will I purchase it again? Definitely!!!

#2 Lovea nature shampoo for colour-treated hair

Image
Lovea nature shampoo is a no sulphate, no silicone and no paraben product. It is an imported France-based product which I purchased from health and glow store. I recently coloured my hair browns and reds, thus requiring a sulphate-free colour-protecting shampoo to retain them. Sulphates generally tend to dry out hair by removing the scalp's natural oils and also results in Colour fading and dried hair. The main ingredient in the shampoo is cranberries. The product claims "to reveal the radiance of your colour without heaviness". My experience with the product : I used this shampoo post my hair colouring. The product had a beautiful magenta colour and a cranberry fragrance. I had oiled my hair with coconut and castor oil. Castor oil is generally thick and viscous in nature which is very difficult to remove from hair. This shampoo did not dry out my hair. My hair colour was retained as newly coloured. The shampoo works very well on oiled hair, although you requir...

#1 Summer time

It is that time of the year where we take our shades and sunscreens whenever we step out in the sun. Yay you're right!!! Its summer!!! Today, I am going to share with you some of the mandatory summer essentials to maintain your glow and have a tan-free body. First and foremost, you need a sunscreen with a minimum SPF 0f 15. I use VLCC sunscreen with a SPF of 50. It is a creamy waterproof sunscreen with protection from both UVA and UVB with a PA+++. Sunscreen is something which can be applied on a daily basis regardless summer or winter. *TIP: Apply sunscreen at least 20 mins prior to  stepping out in the sun. Second is a lip balm. Nowadays, lip balms have become every girl's best pal.  However, make sure your lip balm contains SPF to prevent tanning or darkening of your precious lips. * TIP: Go in for a tinted lip balm for that extra cuteness. Your hair tends to get very dry and brittle during summer. So ensure that you oil your hair using coconut and...
